If you can, you really must drive the whole string of Keys. It's about a three hour drive from Miami to Key West. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. You will find no bluer water or whiter sand anywhere on earth! What is absolutely amazing though, is the road! You will be on U.S. Highway 1 also known as the "Overseas Highway" or "the highway that goes to the sea".

This road is 126 miles long and connects the Keys with a string of 43 bridges anywhere from 37 feet to 7 miles long! This highway is truly an amazing example of human ingenuity! It is awesome! The moment you leave mainland Florida, you will see your first Mile Marker - MM126. This means you have 126 miles to go to reach Key West, the end of the road! Get use to seeing these Mile Markers. They dot the road the whole way and are used to find everything in the Keys! Where is the Key Largo Undersea Park? MM 104!
